[Jan 28 2012]   "End of Season"/ "Try outs"

I want to thank all the players, parents, and fans for a fun successful season. We played hard today. We have come a long way this season and I'm very proud of this "TEAM". I encourage everyone to keep playing some type of basketball.

For the Travel Team players I look forward to continued hard work and focus. The Travel Team is designed around getting the most out of our players and coaches. Travel Teams are very demanding...we are here to learn and improve our game but also now with the emphasis on learning how to win.

Tryouts will be Tuesday 6:30-8:00p @ Lincolnville school for 5th & 6th graders.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

[Jan 24 2012]   "We Hit The $200 Goal"!

We reached our goal of $200 of funds raised! We will be sending a check for $100 To the hope ELAPHANT fund next week! Thanks goes out to everyone who gave their time bottles and cash to our fund raiser. We should be proud to be able to give back to our community.

[Jan 22 2012]   Eaton Pt. 28 Camden Deli 20

Awesome job today playing as a team. We were setting screens, looking up court to pass, helping out on defense, the whole nine yards! I'm impressed with how this team has worked hard to become a basketball "TEAM", you all should be very proud.

Make sure to get Malea's autograph after yesterdays almost triple double we'll be wanting her to sign our basketball when she turns pro! Once again everyone on the team contributed to the game in many different ways. We out scored Camden Deli 18 to 7 after half time. Once again...excellent effort!

Thank you goes to the Milners for $10.96 worth of bottles, Meg Gallagher pitched in $5 (we are not accepting anything over $5 from the players), added to some misc. bottles brings us to $$174.5...we only need $25.50 to reach our goal! Great job! We are all very fortunate people. It's important to always want to find ways to give back to something.

Today 1:00p Optional practice @ Lincolnville, Monday/Friday practices with Saturdays Tourney

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Jan 15 2012]   Nice Game!

Excellent job today all around. I can not think of one player that did not contribute in todays game. This team continues to improve each week! We always play excellent defense but todays defense had quite a few impressive out-let passes for easy lay ups at the other end of the court.

Our shooting continues to improve in leaps and bounds! We still need to continue focusing on screening (doing a nice thing for a team mate) swinging the ball and give and goes as well as boxing out.

Back at it on Monday with Camden Deli next week. We need to focus even extra harder this week. We are 2 Wins 2 Loses and 1 tie. If we win our last game that will give us a 3-2-1 record and a winning season going into the last week Round Robin 1/28.

At this point I believe if we continue to focus on the basics of what we need to do on the basketball court for the next two weeks we can come away with the most Round Robin wins in the final tourney.

At this point we have the best team. We just need to go out and prove it.

Thank You for the effort today!

Bottles!
Bring them next Saturday and I'll bring my trailer or just bring the Cash!

[Jan 07 2012]   Eaton Point 15 All Directions 15

The team came away with a big win today after playing in a tough exhausting 24 minutes of play. The score read 15-15 but we came through with a successfully well played game as a team. We are starting to turn the corner on really being able to start playing some sound basketball. All Directions also had an excellent effort. I think both teams were exhausted by the end of the game. We will continue focus on the basics of the game ball movement and continued tough defense.

Please note that Travel team flyers have been handed out. Please let me know if you would like a flyer or are interested in trying out.

Remember bottles bottles bottles we need appprox $45.00 more dollars to reach our $200 goal. Practice Sunday 12:00 (optional) @ Lincolnville Monday/Friday 5:00-6:00 YMCA

[Jan 06 2012]   Practice Tonight

Sorry we were missing some players on Monday. We need to be checking this web site for updates. Practice tonight and game Saturday 10:00 vs All Directions. Please let me know when you can't make it to practice.
Thanks!

[Jan 02 2012]   "Happy New Year"!

Hope all had a nice New Years Day. Bring bottles to practice tonight if you have any to add to our goal! See you at 5:00!

[Dec 28 2011]   12/28 Update

Hope all are having a nice holiday week. We have an opportunity to play during half time of the varsity game on Friday. It would be great if we could all make it. Please let me know who will be there.

We are back to regular practices on Monday and Friday 5-6 p.m. We will be having our pictures taken 8:15 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 14th. Our game on the 7th is at 10:00 vs. All Directions.

Coach O'Donal and I have more bottle money to be added this week so keep saving those bottles. If you need for me to come pick up the bottles let me know. We should need less than $50 to hit our goal of $200. Once again $100 of this will be going to our Hope Elephants project. Thank you to everyone it's been a great effort.

[Dec 18 2011]   "Mid-Season Update"

Congrats on the win (without me) on Saturday. I guess I'm not needed...BIG THANKS goes out to Coach O'Donal (Coached 1st solo game) and Bonnie Gallagher who kept stats and reffed the second game. Challenge for the team during the game was to achieve 30 pts between screens, boxing out and baskets. Total points achieved were 26. This meant the team would run Monday. With that said I did hear that on six occasions the ball was reversed to the weak side. If I add the six to the 26 I get 32...two over 30 so no running on Monday. Your welcome!
I have been impressed with the focus the team has had so far this season. Every player has worked hard at practice. We have thrown alot at the team already this season and you have all tried (at some point in time) to buy into the system. We have become more consistent with reversing the ball to the weak side. We are also playing more like a team with screens freeing up other players for clean shots and playing "help out" defense. Defense has always been the strength of our team. Boxing out and rebounding on the other hand (as well as making shots) has been our weakest characteristics.
We've had fun as a team outside the basketball court with our bowling party and have set goals to give back to our community with plans to donate funds to the "hope Elephants" organization. We will continue to raise money for our charitable contribution. We will also continue to work on building a "team" oriented basketball program. But most of all, we will continue to have fun.
Happy Holidays with your family and friends. Don't forget to watch college b ball and keep practicing (anything) during the break. We will have practice Monday night and then we're off until January 2nd practice.

[Dec 15 2011]   "Where Is Coach Gallagher"?

I will not be @ the game on Saturday. Remember 1 pt. for "screen", 1 pt. for "box out", one point for a basket! If you score over 30 total points (screen, box out, basket) during the game the team will not need to run Monday. Nice high follow through and have fun. We will have practice Mon. night then we will be off until the first Monday in January. Please bring your collected bottles to Monday night practice.

[Dec 11 2011]   "Eaton Pt. Bowlers"

What fun was had by all! I think if we kept on bowling we would of had a 300 (if you add both team scores together)game! I will post the pics when I can. 1 1/2 hr practice, 2 hrs. eating cake & pizza...I had fun! Back at it Monday. We practice hard this week last game before the break. Milner won't be at the game on Saturday so we all have something to make up for. Oh, by the way, Audrey was missed very much @ the party. Maybe she will be there for the rematch!

Nice win by the Pats!

[Dec 04 2011]   "Hope Elephants"

We have decided that the money we raise during our bottle drive will not only benefit our team but also the "hope ELEPHANTS" program right here in our back yard. Our fund raising goal has been set at $200. As of today we have already raised $78.35 towards our goal. We want to thank Cuzzy's and Smoke Stack Grill for bottle donations. Please go out and encourage friends neighbors etc. to donate to the our effort. We will give 50% of our funds raised to the "ELEPHANT" program. I have talked to members of this group and have already been invited to come up for a tour of the facility that Rosie will live. If anyone needs help picking up bottles let me know. Please bring any bottles you might already have to practice on Monday. Thank You so much for all your efforts.

[Nov 16 2011]   Point Lookout Practice/Bowling Party!

We will be having practice @ Point Lookout on December 10th (no games that Sat.) from 10:00 am-11:30 am. Practice will be followed by a "bowling party" from 12:00-2:00.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you plan to attend. I would like to have a bottle drive to help differ some of the costs between now and then.

If any parents would like to help with the bottle drive or the days events please let me know.

THANKS!!
